Plain answers on what RuneSquire collects, why, and how to remove it.

Last updated

The short version

RuneSquire is a free pilot. It looks up public RuneScape data from the name you type. You don't need an account to do that. Analytics is off unless you allow it, and you can ask us to delete your data at any time.

RuneSquire is a fan-made site. It isn't affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Jagex.

What we use

Your RuneScape name. When you type a name, RuneSquire fetches public data for it from the official Hiscores and RuneMetrics. That includes levels, XP and quest status. We use it to build your plan and show it back to you. We don't ask for your RuneScape password, and we can't see anything that isn't public.

An optional account. If you make an account, we store the email address or sign-in details you give us, and the goals and progress you save, so they're there next time. If you don't make one, you can still look things up.

Basic server logs. Our host records technical details of each request, such as the page, time and IP address, to keep the site running and to deal with abuse.

Analytics

We'd like to know which pages and features help. For that we use PostHog, but only if you choose "Allow analytics" on the banner. If you pick "No thanks", or don't answer, analytics stays off and no analytics cookies or identifiers are set.

You can change your mind here at any time.

Your choice right now: …

Cookies and local storage

RuneSquire keeps a few small items in your browser:

  • rs-consent remembers your analytics choice.
  • rs-mode remembers light or dark display, if you set it.
  • App settings you choose, such as your budget or look, so they're still there when you return.
  • A sign-in session cookie, if you have an account and sign in.

These are needed for the site to work the way you set it. Analytics cookies are added only if you allow analytics.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your data. We use a few services to run the site: a host and database to serve pages and store accounts, and PostHog for analytics if you allow it. They process data on our behalf. We may also share data if the law requires it.

Deleting your data

Email support@runesquire.com and we'll delete your account, saved goals and progress. You can also ask what we hold about you. Data in the browser, such as the items above, can be cleared from your browser settings.

Your RuneScape name and stats come from public sources. Deleting your RuneSquire data doesn't change anything at Jagex.

Children

RuneSquire isn't aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal data. If you think a child has given us data, email us and we'll remove it.
