The "long brown stone" always represents eucalyptus logs.
Correct plant and stone combinations are different for every player; you'll need to check and record combinations to solve the puzzle.
You can use the calculator below to mark which stone type represents which plant. Your browser will remember the selections as long as you don't clean browser cache for the wiki.
If you get the message, "The pungent smell makes the insects disperse", the combination is correct.
If you get the message, "The fire has a pungent aroma, but it doesn't seem to have any effect on the insects", add more logs and a different plant to the fire pit and light them.
Fresh logs are required for each attempt, otherwise you will not disperse the insects even if you find the correct combination.
In the worst case, you need 5 piles of logs and 1 of each plant for the next step.
Move to the thermal bath, north-east of Seegud. There is 'a pile of long brown and yellow egg-shaped stones'. This fire pit requires a pile of eucalyptus logs and one of the five plants in order to disperse the insects. By trial and error, determine which plant is needed for this pool and represents the 'yellow egg-shaped' stones. If done correctly, the swarm of insects above the pool will vanish completely.
In the worst case, you need 4 piles of logs, 4 plants for yellow egg-shaped stone, and 1 of each other plant for the next step.
Move to the mud bath to the east. There is 'a pile of long brown, red sphere and yellow egg-shaped stones'. This fire pit requires eucalyptus logs and two plants. The primary plant of this pool is the same as the plant used at the thermal bath. Figure out the secondary plant by using any of the other four unused plants, until the correct combination is discovered.
In the worst case, you need 3 piles of logs and 3 plants for red sphere stone, 1 of each other plant (except for yellow egg-shaped stone) for the next step.
Move to the salt-water spring west of the thermal bath. There is 'a pile of long brown, red sphere and green gumdrop stones'. This fire pit requires eucalyptus logs and two plants. Be sure to use the secondary plant from the mud bath as the primary plant for this pool. Find the secondary plant by using the three remaining herbs until the correct one is found.
In the worst case, you need 2 piles of logs and 2 plants for green gumdrop stone, 1 of each other plant (except for yellow egg-shaped and red sphere stones) for the next step.
Head west to the yellow sulphur spring. There is 'a pile of long brown, purple tall and green gumdrop stones'. This fire pit requires eucalyptus logs and two plants. Use the secondary plant for the salt-water spring as the primary plant for this spring. One of the two remaining herbs will be the secondary plant, so try them both.
You need 1 pile of logs, 1 plant for red sphere stone, 1 plant for purple tall stone, and 1 unused plant for the next step.
Head to the Bandos pool. There is 'a pile of long brown, red sphere, purple tall and orange squarish stones'. This fire pit requires eucalyptus logs and three plants. Use the secondary plant from the mud bath, the secondary plant from the sulphur pool and the unused herb.
Drop all primweeds and stinkblooms to free up your backpack spaces.
Keep all other unused plants as you will need them in the next task.
After all of the bugs are taken care of, talk to Seegud.
