Hearts of Sanguine

Go north-east into the Highweald Forest and talk to Raz in her cabin at the bottom of the river.

Go north along the east side of the river and inspect the dead bear.

Talk to Raz.

Talk to Bartender Gefen inside the Burnt Lobster Tavern south-east of the Wendlewick lodestone.

(Optional) You can purchase a Wendlewick ale from the bartender if you didn't bring your own.

Talk to Matthew and give him a Wendlewick ale. He is sitting alone at the table in the north-western corner of the tavern.

Talk to Miriam, the musician outside.

Talk to Jacob, sitting alone outside.

Talk to Bartender Gefen.

Go back and talk to Adam.

Go south-east to the Eastfold Farm (further south-east than Marigold Farm) and talk to Farmer Rachel. (Fairy Ring BKS)

Investigate the bloodsplatter to the north at the broken fence.

Follow the blood trail to the north-east and enter the cave entrance.

Talk to Anya.

Teleport to the Wendlewick lodestone, go to the first floor of the lighthouse, and talk to Esther.

Be sure to finish the second set of dialogue with Esther before continuing.

Go south-east, then west up the hill and pick the poppies next to the cardinal marker at the top of the cliff to obtain a Wendlewick poppy.

To the south-west of the Shrine of Inanna, near the jackalope burrows, kill a hedgehog and pick up the hedgehog spines.

East of the shrine, pick the wolf's tongue mushrooms near the fairy ring to obtain wolf's tongue.

Return to Esther.

Complete the following steps, in order, to craft an antisanguine potion; if you end up with a black ruined potion after any step, you must start over from the beginning.

1. Take a vial from the vial cabinet in the north.

2. Fill it with oil from the vat of oil in the south.

3. Sterilise the vial of oil at the fireplace in the north-east.

4. Take hedgehog spines from the bucket of hedgehog spines in the east.

5. Grind the spines, and mix the vial of oil (s) with the crushed hedgehog spines.

6. Take a Wendlewick poppy from the sack of flowers in the south-east.

7. Press ingredient on the table in the centre.

8. Mix the vial of oil (crushed hedgehog spine) with the pressed Wendlewick poppy.

9. Take wolf's tongue from the sack of mushrooms in the south.

10. Weigh ingredient on the desk in the north-west, weigh out 30g.

11. Mix the vial of oil (crushed hedgehog spine, pressed Wendlewick poppy) with the wolf's tongue (30g).

Talk to Esther.

Go to the lake south of the Shrine of Inanna and test antisanguine on the hedgehog (only the non-attackable hedgehog in this area will work).

Kill it.

Go to the south-east side of the spring-fed pond (on the east side of the stepping stones) and test antisanguine on the duck.

Go north-east and test antisanguine on the badger.

Go back to Wendlewick and talk to Liat inside the smithy to the east. If someone left the door open, she may wander outside.

Go to the Highweald mine (head directly north from the smithy) and talk to Gidon.

(Optional) You can mine 10 copper ores and 10 tin ores from the rocks near Gidon if you did not bring your own.

Return to Wendlewick and give Liat 10 copper and 10 tin ores, these must be un-noted.

Return to the mine and enter the cave entrance.

Talk to Gidon.

Mine 4 havensilver ore.

Return and talk to Liat.

Smelt the ores at the furnace into havensilver bars.

Smith them at the forge and anvil into a havensilver greatsword.

This is a safe encounter for the Hardcore Ironman Mode players and they will not lose their HCIM status if they die.

Equip the Havensilver greatsword.

Unequip armour that decreases melee accuracy (e.g. necromancy armour) or use melee armour.

Return to the Blighted Cave east of the Marigold Farm and talk to Anya outside of it.

Canoe station option 2 is a nearby quick travel spot to the cave.

Enter the cave, drink the antisanguine.

You may reclaim it from Anya.

Attack the Sanguine heart.

It will spawn sanguine tumours 3 times during the fight which will make the heart immune to damage until they are destroyed.

It will periodically launch an exploding pustule to the tile you are standing on, you need to move before it explodes to avoid damage and removal of antisanguine protection effect.

It may be beneficial to take additional doses of antisanguine during the fight if damaged.

Death here is safe, placing you outside the cave.

Once the heart reaches 1 life point, attack it again.

Leave the cave exit and talk to Anya again.

Return to Wendlewick and talk to Adam.
