- 1Catching raw crayfish and cooking them is recommended, as they are caught rapidly even at level 1 Fishing (raw shrimps require the same Fishing/Cooking level and gives same experience, but are slower to catch).
- 2After the tutorial, you'd have unlocked the Burthorpe lodestone.
- 3Teleport there and run south until you see water, and there are crayfish spots on the northern shore (with trees very close by).
- 4Chop a set of logs, fish until your inventory is full, then start a bonfire and cook the crayfish on it.
- 5Cooked crayfish isn't worth much, so you can quickly get rid of them by selling to Nicholas Angle or deposit them in the bank south of the Taverley lodestone.
- 6You can opt to save some raw crayfish and bank them, as they can be sold on the Grand Exchange for around coins, funding some later methods.

You must use the Lure option at fishing spots to catch trout.
- 1Raw trout can be caught in Gunnarsgrunn or on the east side of Lumbridge (latter is closer to a bank), provided you have level 20 Fishing.
- 2Trouts give 50 experience each.
- 3You must use the Lure option at fishing spots to catch trout.
- 4It would take about 40 minutes to go from 20 to 30 Fishing when you fish and cook trout; this also grants about 10k Cooking experience.
- 5Fishing trout consumes a feather (costs 6 coins each from shops) per fish.
- 6If this is not available, stick to catching and cooking crayfish.
- 7Raw salmon can be randomly caught and cooked on the same spots with 30 Fishing/25 Cooking.
- 8Some players choose to stick with this spot all the way to 99 due to the fast catching rate compared to higher level fish, although doing so is slightly more attention intensive.

- 1Raw tunas can be caught at the northeastern pier at Musa Point in Karamja with the Harpoon option at level 35 Fishing.
- 2Cooking tuna yields 100 experience each, though the catching speed is slow.
- 3This spot is very popular for medium to high level fishers in F2P and occasionally you may be able to pick up dropped raw fish (e.g. raw tuna by fishers only wanting raw swordfish).
- 4Unlike previous spots, trees you can cut for logs are a lot further (closest is the dead tree at Karamja Volcano); you could note tunas, lobsters, and swordfish (both raw and cooked) at Stiles a fair distance to the southwest.
- 5By noting raw fish, you can fish indefinitely until you wish to cook at your leisure at any bank.
- 6It takes about 45 seconds (round trip) from the fishing spots to get logs, 60 seconds to note at Stiles, 70 seconds to teleport to Port Sarim lodestone, deposit at the bank deposit box just northeast, and take the ferry back to Musa Point.
- 7If you do cook it here, cooked tuna is worth so little they are not worth noting/banking.
- 8Instead, simply sell them to the general store southwest to the fishing spot for nearly as much as selling them on the Grand Exchange.

Requires crossing a gate and door that players killing chickens prefer to keep closed to prevent them from wandering, so use an unpopulated world.
Cooking it requires level 32 and partial completion of Chef's Assistant.
- 1South of Party Room in Falador.
- 2Slightly faster than others, but requires Chef's Assistant.
- 3Makeover Mage's house with the bank chest at Clan Camp.
- 4Level 11 Highwayman may be dangerous to very low level players.
- 5Fred the Farmer's house north of Lumbridge.
- 6Requires crossing a gate and door that players killing chickens prefer to keep closed to prevent them from wandering, so use an unpopulated world.
- 7Falador farm, requiring explorer's ring 3 to teleport to quickly and a teleport to bank.
- 8Also has a dairy cow and milk seller to obtain milk yourself.

- 1Raw lobsters can be caught at Musa point in Karamja at level 40 Fishing with the Cage option.
- 2Lobster yields 120 experience each.
- 3Cooking and catching speed is comparable to harpooning.
- 45+Medium effortFreeIn 44 levelsNo rate given
However, it would require a high Cooking level to prevent most burns, and the market can fluctuate wildly.
- 1Raw swordfish can be caught in Musa point in Karamja at level 50 Fishing also with the Harpoon option.
- 2Swordfish yields 140 experience each cooking.
- 3However swordfish catching speed is the slowest among all fish, because tunas are also caught while harpooning.
- 4Also, at least 60 Cooking should be attained before starting to cook swordfish, as the burning rate is very high (80% at the minimum 45 Cooking).
- 5Swordfish has one of the lowest losses while cooking fish in F2P, and it offers one of the fastest experience, so it is more viable to buy it raw on the Grand Exchange, cook then resell.
- 6However, it would require a high Cooking level to prevent most burns, and the market can fluctuate wildly.
