No bait is required when catching crayfish.
- 1At level 1 Fishing players should begin catching raw crayfish.
- 2Fishing crayfish gives around 11,500 Fishing experience an hour between levels 1 and 20 Fishing.
- 3Assuming a player has no previous experience in the Fishing skill, they should be able to achieve these levels in around 23 minutes.
- 4Locations to catch crayfish include east of Lumbridge church and along the northern shore of the lake in Taverley, near Nicholas Angle.

Feathers, costing each when bought from the Grand Exchange, are the required bait for fly fishing.
To fly fish, players must use the “lure” option, as opposed to the “bait”, on fishing spots found in these locations.
- 1At level 20 Fishing players should start training by fly fishing raw trout.
- 2At level 30 Fishing players gain the ability to catch raw salmon and will begin to catch a mixture of both trout and salmon while fly fishing.
- 3This gives between 17,000 and 67,000 Fishing experience per hour, with level 20-99 Fishing.
- 4Feathers, costing each when bought from the Grand Exchange, are the required bait for fly fishing.
- 5Lumbridge Fishing Supplies and Gerrant's Fishy Business both carry a stock of 3,500 feathers that they sell for each and restock every 24 hours.
- 6There are several locations where players can fly fish trout and salmon, including east of Gunnarsgrunn and at the River Lum in Lumbridge.
- 7To fly fish, players must use the “lure” option, as opposed to the “bait”, on fishing spots found in these locations.
- 8For players wishing to bank their fish, a bank chest can be found at the Lumbridge Market near the Lumbridge fly fishing spot, though this is not recommended as it decreases the amount of Fishing experience that can be gained an hour.

Barbarian fishing requires level 30 in both Strength and Agility and grants small amounts of Strength and Agility experience for each fish caught.
- 1At level 20 Fishing players should start training by fly fishing raw trout.
- 2At level 30 Fishing players gain the ability to catch raw salmon and will begin to catch a mix of both trout and salmon while fly fishing.
- 3This gives between 17,000 and 57,000 Fishing experience per hour, with level 20-70 Fishing.
- 4Feathers are the required bait for fly fishing.
- 5Up to 1,000 feathers per day can be purchased from many fishing shops for 6 coins each.
- 6Vendors also stock 5 feather packs, each containing 2,000 feathers at a cost of 15,000 coins each (7.5 per feather).
- 7There are several locations where players can fly fish trout and salmon, including east of Gunnarsgrunn, at the River Lum in Lumbridge, and in Shilo Village (if the Shilo Village quest has been completed).
- 8To fly fish, players must use the "lure" option, as opposed to the "bait", on fishing spots found in these locations.
- 9From level 58 Fishing onward players may begin to catch both leaping trout and leaping salmon using barbarian fishing techniques.
- 10Catching these fish gives the same amount of Fishing experience per fish caught as catching raw trout and raw salmon.
- 11Also, fish are caught at a similar rate using both barbarian fishing techniques and through fly fishing.
- 12This means that the two methods give a similar experience rates between levels 58 and 70 Fishing.
- 13Barbarian fishing requires level 30 in both Strength and Agility and grants small amounts of Strength and Agility experience for each fish caught.
- 14This method also allows the use of bait in place of feathers which works out cheaper when purchasing from the Grand Exchange.
- 15Note: Using strong fishing urns at 70 Fishing can yield up to 70,000 experience an hour.
Levels 50–69

- 1At level 66 Fishing, players gain the ability to catch ghostly sole (Necromancy!, quest required).
- 2Found in the City of Um, there is one ghostly sole spot located at the Reflection Pool on the southern side of the map.
- 3This ghostly sole spot does not change location, or disappear, so players can use this as full "lobby timer AFK" method when paired with signs of the porter or the fury shark outfit's consume option.
- 4For players that do not wish to use porters or don't have the fury shark outfit unlocked, there is a bank close to the west.
- 5If you map a fish to a hotbar keybind you can drop the fish.
- 6Holding this key down does not stop the fishing interaction even after dropping the fish.
- 7Players can also use the 3rd teleport option on the passing bracelet "City of Um: Reflection Pool" to teleport a few steps from the fishing spot.
- 8At level 99 players can expect between 90,000 to 100,000 base experience.
Levels 70–89

45 StrengthThe Part Of Barbarian TrainingBarbarian fishing requires completion of the part of barbarian training which allows players to use a heavy fishing rod.
Feathers (costing ) or fishing bait (costing ) are required to catch these fish.
- 1At level 70 players gain the ability to catch leaping sturgeon and should begin training by barbarian fishing leaping trout, leaping salmon and leaping sturgeon if they are unable to use Crystallise and Light Form.
- 2This gives around 63,000 experience an hour at level 70 Fishing.
- 3Players are also awarded 5, 6 or 7 experience each in both Strength and Agility each time they catch a leaping trout, leaping salmon or leaping sturgeon respectively.
- 4Barbarian fishing requires completion of the part of barbarian training which allows players to use a heavy fishing rod.
- 5Additionally level 45 Strength and Agility is required in order to catch all three types of fish.
- 6Feathers (costing ) or fishing bait (costing ) are required to catch these fish.
- 7The only location where these fish can be caught is the lake near the hut of Otto Godblessed at the top of Baxtorian Falls.

- 1At level 70 Fishing, players should continue to train by fly fishing raw trout and salmon if they are able to use the Crystallise spell and Light Form prayer to increase the experience gained from Fishing spots.
- 2This gives up to 118,000 experience an hour, with level 99 Fishing.
- 3If you use the Crystallise spell every 30 seconds, you can expect a maximum of 11,400 Magic experience per hour on top of the Fishing experience.

Partial completion of The Jack of Spades quest is required to be able to access Menaphos.
- 1At level 72 Fishing players can fish desert sole, catfish, and beltfish from fishing spots in Menaphos' Port District or VIP skilling area.
- 2Partial completion of The Jack of Spades quest is required to be able to access Menaphos.
- 3Although fishing here is not as fast as fly fishing with Crystallise and doesn't give bonus Strength and Agility experience like Barbarian fishing, the player can gain reputation and the fishing spots are very close to a bank or deposit box (unlocked at tier 2 Ports reputation).
- 4The VIP skilling area is unlocked at tier 7 overall reputation: the fishing spots within this area deplete at half the rate of the fishing spots in the port district.
- 5At tier 8 reputation within the Port District the player's success chance while fishing is increased.
- 6Fishing in Menaphos yields around 85,000 experience an hour at level 99 Fishing without the reputation effects unlocked, and 120,000 with a full Fury Shark outfit and tier 8 reputation in the Port district.

With the Pontifex Shadow ring either worn or in the bank (requires the player to overcharge the ring with 5000 resonant anima of each Elder God Wars faction), the player will receive an Elder Trove in their inventory every 6 to 12 minutes, which can contain various rewards.
- 1With at least 88, but preferably 92 Fishing for all nodes, players can begin training at the Croesus Front in Senntisten, where colonised guards can be found and fished.
- 2While not the fastest experience per hour, if the player owns a full shark outfit (to consume the caught fungal algae and enriched fungal algae) and the upgraded Pontifex shadow ring (for various benefits) this method can be fairly relaxed and profitable.
- 3Depending on the level of attention paid, and luck with enriched spawns, the player can expect between 120,000 and 200,000 experience per hour at level 99 Fishing with boosts.
- 4With the Pontifex Shadow ring either worn or in the bank (requires the player to overcharge the ring with 5000 resonant anima of each Elder God Wars faction), the player will receive an Elder Trove in their inventory every 6 to 12 minutes, which can contain various rewards.
- 5Additionally the player will receive Resonant anima of Bik while fishing.
- 6This method is also useful for players, especially ironmen, who are looking to obtain a Pernix's quiver (be aware: you need to wear the fully upgraded Pontifex ring, unless the passive effect is unlocked, when opening the Troves).
Levels 90+

- 1With at least level 93 Fishing players can begin training by Prifddinas Waterfall Fishing.
- 2As the waterfall is located within Prifddinas, between the Crwys and Meilyr districts, completion of Plague's End is required to access it.
- 3Level 90 Ranged, Agility and Strength are also required to use the grapple shortcut to get to the top of the waterfall.
- 4Players will need to bring a mithril grapple and a crossbow in order to use the grapple shortcut, if they have not previously built a hidey-hole at the waterfall.
- 5Alternatively, a player may use an enhanced grappling hook from their tool belt.
- 6With level 93 Fishing players can fish at the low-level area to obtain small crystal urchins.
- 7At level 95 players can fish at the mid-level area to gain medium crystal urchins.
- 8With 97 Fishing players can fish at the high-level area to obtain large crystal urchins.
- 9The crystal urchins that are obtained from fishing at the waterfall can be exchanged for crystal urchin points to spend on rewards at the Prifddinas Waterfall Fishing Shop.
- 10With level 99 Fishing, a player can obtain a base rate of around 130,000 experience an hour from fishing at the high-level area.
- 11With buffs this can go up to 200,000 experience an hour.
- 12Additionally the player will obtain 317 large crystal urchins which would give them 951 crystal urchin points.
- 133,000 Fishing experience can be purchased for 300 crystal urchin points, so players can gain an additional 9,000 experience an hour, for a total of 139,000 base experience an hour.

It has a streak mechanic where players must continually click on the rapidly moving spots in order to increase and maintain their streak.
- 1Barrel of bait, granting a 5-10% chance to gain an extra catch for 3 minutes.
- 2Broken fishing rod, granting a 5-10% bonus catch rate for 3-30 minutes.
- 3Tangled fishbowl, granting 5% extra fishing experience for 3-30 minutes.
- 4Fishing notes, grants up to 9,703 experience when used at level 99 Fishing.
- 96–99High effortMembersIn 95 levels137kXP/h
Completion of the Flag Fall miniquest, which allows the player to claim an uncharted isle and return to it, is also required to fish wobbegongs effectively.
To find wobbegongs, the player must first gain some chimes from skilling in The Arc so that they can purchase the supplies required to voyage to Uncharted Isles.
Doing contracts, however, requires chimes to be able to reroll contracts until satisfactory wobbegong ones are assigned.
- 1For a less intensive training method players could continue fishing at Prifddinas waterfall.
- 2At level 96 Fishing players may also choose to fish wobbegongs.
- 3Raw wobbegongs are a rare Fishing resource that can be found randomly on Uncharted Isles.
- 4Uncharted Isles can be explored from the The Arc region, which requires completion of the Impressing the Locals quest to access.
- 5Completion of the Flag Fall miniquest, which allows the player to claim an uncharted isle and return to it, is also required to fish wobbegongs effectively.
- 6To find wobbegongs, the player must first gain some chimes from skilling in The Arc so that they can purchase the supplies required to voyage to Uncharted Isles.
- 7Supplies can be purchased from Rosie (supplies).
- 8When the player finds an Uncharted Isle with wobbegong fishing spots then they can claim the island using a claim island flag.
- 9Once an uncharted isle is claimed the player may return to it for the price of 3 supplies per voyage: 5 supplies can be claimed per day for free from the box next to Rosie.
- 10Up to 3 wobbegong fishing spots may be present on an Uncharted Isle, if the player opts to go on a long voyage.
- 11Raw wobbegongs can be fished using a fishing rod with level 96 Fishing.
- 12Each day the player may catch approximately 100 raw wobbegongs per fishing spot before it is depleted.
- 13The daily cap resets at 00:00 UTC.
- 14Depleting one wobbegong fishing spot takes around 30 minutes and gives around 68,500 experience.
- 15It is recommended to have 96 Cooking to convert the wobbegongs into oil which sells more compared to the raw wobbegong themselves.
- 16Purchasing the supplies cost reductions and commodity sell price increases unlocks from the Waiko Reward Shop, in addition to having a claimed island with as many fishing spots as possible, will further increase the viability of searching for wobbegong fishing spots to fish continuously.
- 17However, wobbegong spots are fairly rare among other resources, with the chance of two wobbegong nodes being extremely low compared to two alaea or bamboo nodes.
- 18At level 99, fishing wobbegongs gives an experience rate equivalent to around 137,000 Fishing experience an hour.
- 19The experience from fishing raw wobbegongs can further be bolstered by completing contracts given by Sojobo (contracts) on Waiko or Hubbub (contracts) on Whale's Maw or via a contract contact on an uncharted isle.
- 20Players may complete up to 3 contracts daily, and may purchase upgrades from Boni for a maximum of 7 daily contracts.
- 21Doing contracts, however, requires chimes to be able to reroll contracts until satisfactory wobbegong ones are assigned.
