Do I need to do quests in this exact order?

No. The order only makes sure you never start a quest before its quest and skill requirements are met, and it groups skill training so you level each skill once. Any order that respects each quest's requirements works.

Is this the fastest route to the Quest Cape?

It is built to avoid backtracking: short and cheap quests come before long ones, and training targets rise gradually. Your own combat level, gear and stats can make a different order quicker for you, so treat it as a strong default.

What about free-to-play?

Choose Free-to-play above to see only the quests a non-member can finish. The All view also starts with free quests, then moves on to members quests.
