Your best pick at level 1
Levels 1–29
10 methods- 1–10Medium effortFreeYou're here9.7kXP/h
- 1At level 1 Woodcutting, players should begin training on regular trees.
- 2Between level 1 and 10 Woodcutting, players can gain experience at a rate equivalent to 9,700 experience per hour cutting regular trees.
- 3However, as only 1,154 experience is needed to achieve level 10 Woodcutting, a player starting with no Woodcutting experience can expect to achieve level 10 after around 8 minutes of training.
- 4This process can be further sped up by wielding a dwarven army axe, which grants additional experience per log cut.
- 5Regular trees are located throughout RuneScape.
- 6To avoid having to wait for trees to respawn while training, players should train in locations with many regular trees available (such as the dead trees to the south-west of the Grand Exchange in Varrock, west of the Cooks' Guild).

- 3As a total of around 3,316 Woodcutting experience is needed to advance from level 10 to 20 Woodcutting, players should be able to achieve these levels in approximately 11 minutes.
- 4Oak trees are found in many locations throughout Gielinor, but an example of a good place to cut them is just south-west of Varrock west bank (south of the Grand Exchange and just east of Gertrude's house).
- 5Here players will find 3 oak trees located close to the bank, with a further 3 oak trees located south of the first group.

- 4This, coupled with the Draynor willows' proximity to the bank, makes banking very easy.
- 5On free-to-play worlds, the willow wood box only holds 200 logs, not 230.

Alternatively, they can be found at Dalia's Tree Nursery in Havenhythe after completing the achievements The Lute of Love and From Here to Eternity which is conveniently next to a bank chest after completing the achievement Trader Woes.
- 1Similar to elder trees, they remain standing for a set amount of time, with a minimum of 5 minutes until they are felled.
- 2The amount of time to felling is indicated by a green bar over the tree.
- 3When nobody is chopping the tree, the time to felling will slowly replenish back up to 5 minutes.
- 4Activations of the Refined perk and cadantine incense sticks will extend the felling time by 30 seconds up to a maximum of 5 times, which can extend the felling time by up to 2 minutes and 30 seconds.
- 5There is a chance when cutting them to perform a Perfect Cut, which grants 5% extra experience and guarantees a log.
- 6Periodically when cutting them they have a call to action mechanic where a ray of light and falling leaves will fall on one side of the tree.
- 7Chopping the tree on this side of the tree will grant Lumberjack's Intuition for 30 seconds, which provides multiple benefits (see the page for a full breakdown).
- 8Between level 101 and 110 Woodcutting there are multiple levelling benefits that improve cutting eternal magic trees, including Lumberjack Intuition being more frequent and powerful, better base cutting rate, and increased chances of receiving enchanted bird's nests.
- 9At level 110 Woodcutting, there is a small chance to receive a perfect eternal magic branch when cutting eternal magic trees.
- 10Two of these are used in the creation of the masterwork bow, but additional branches can be given to Heedi in exchange for Woodcutting experience equivalent to a medium prismatic lamp.
